The 2004 Riverside Air Show

March 27, 2004

The show opened with a jump by the Canadian Just In Time Skydivers. They train here in California during the winter.

C-141 Starlifter flyby.

The KC135 flyby was a no-show, but this C-141 was still interesting. Buy Print

Eric Beard's tattered plans can be seen inside the cockpit of his Yak-54 Russian Thunder.

The Silver Wings Flight Team consists of wing walker Margaret Stivers and pilot Hatley Folstad.

The F-117 Stealth had to cancel (midway out here!), so as a consolation one of the static displays did an impromptu performance.

This is a replica of the Fokker DR.1 that the Red Baron (Manfred von Richthofen) flew in World War I. Buy Print

I was surprised by how manuverable the plane was. It could turn on a dime, climb sharply, and yet fly very slowly.

This plane as a particular interest for me because I'm named after an uncle who was named after the Red Baron.

The A-10 Thunderbolt II was next to fly.

The P-51 Six Shooter joined it for a heritage flight.

In the afternoon, the jet car did another race. This time he won against Eric Beard.

F-8 Bearcat.

F4U Corsair in formation with the Bearcat.

All too soon the show was over and the planes left one by one.
